    To find a good location to lay traps or poisons to rampaging rats in buildings, most pest control textbooks suggest looking out for rat droppings, loose furs and rub marks on the walls left behind by the creatures. These are usually not easy to locate. If the building has been previously infested, old signs are difficult to differentiate from new ones. If you have failed to eliminate rat infestation at the first attempt, then it would be even more difficult in subsequent attempts.

    RAT TRACKER is a device that is deployed to keep track of the intensity of nocturnal rodent activity. It is specially designed with a built-in computerised counter that will enable the monitoring of rat activity with a maximum of 99 movements. Its incorporated infra red sensor is able to detect the presence of any heat sources radiated from any hot-blooded object weighing as little as 50 mg. The device is designed to work in the dark. Therefore it would not alarm the suspicious rodent unnecessarily.
    Use the RAT TRACKER to unveil locations that have been attracting rats. Rats are attracted by places with food, water and other life essentials or tough material to gnaw with. The location with the highest level of rat activity indicates that it is most attractive. This location will be most appropriate for traps to be laid. Choose at least 3 locations to station the RAT TRACKER and conduct the monitoring after dark for at least 12 hours per location.
    The RAT TRACKER can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of your Pest Control Operator’s devised rat control programmes. Use the RAT TRACKER before and after the treatment programme and its effectiveness will be revealed.

If the floor area is large, the number of RAT TRACKERs required to deploy has to increase accordingly. More RAT TRACKERs will increase the amount of data reported. It may become tedious to manage large data manually. The rodent activity analyzing software is specially tailored to help manage huge volume of rodent activity data feedback from the RAT TRACKERs. The software could perform the following tasks: -

analyse the input from all deployed RAT TRACKERs
report the level of rodent activity based on pre-defined zones
help to locate the optimum trap site per zonal area
globalised or localised display of high rodent activity regions inside monitored premises
report the progress of rat eradication
